One fleet, never divided, and one more opening race for the boats who miss the medal cut, scored below the medal fleet
Melges 15 2026 — Sprint championship format under discussion: one fleet, a medal race, and a race for the rest · F2
1 qualifying fleets · no split · discards: 1 discard from race 5. · medal race ×2
Fixture 25's championship, with one change: the boats who miss the medal
cut sail one more race of the opening series while the medal fleet sails
the medal race. It is the ILCA companion race in a championship that never
divides its fleet.
The medal boats have left the fleet's racing, so they are absent from Q6
rather than scored DNC in it. The race is scored below them: three boats
went to the medal race, so its first finisher scores 4, the second 5, and
so on. Otherwise it is an ordinary opening race, so it reaches the discard
ladder.
s4 4 4 4 4 4 + Q6 4 -> 24, one dropped: 20
s5 5 5 5 5 5 + Q6 5 -> 30, one dropped: 25
s6 6 6 6 6 6 + Q6 6 -> 36, one dropped: 30
The medal boats score exactly as in fixture 25.
