A repêchage sailed as one fleet, ranked on its own races, its top two promoted into a Final Series that carries nothing

Twelve helms sail two qualifying flights of six. The top two of each flight
go straight to a six-boat Final Series; "helms ranked from 3rd to 5th from
each Qualifying Fleet may sail a Repêchage of up to 2 races. Scoring for
this round shall not include preliminary race results" (SI 6.4), and its
top two join them (SI 6.5). The Final Series is the whole championship
score: "No scores will be carried forward" (SI 17.3), and nothing is
excluded anywhere.

At reduced scale: flights A and B of four, the winner of each straight
into a four-boat Final Series, and the 2nd and 3rd of each into the
repêchage. The scorer picks those four boats by hand and promotes its top
two, so neither the band nor the number promoted is a rule here.

Qualifying: a1 2, a2 5, a3 5, a4 8 in flight A; b1 3, b2 3, b3 6, b4 8 in
flight B. The repêchage starts everyone on zero: a3 1 then 2, b2 2 then 1,
both 3; A8.1 cannot split them and A8.2 goes to the last race, R2, which
b2 won. b3 4+3 = 7, a2 3 + DNF (4 boats + 1) = 8.

b2 and a3 are promoted and carry nothing, like a1 and b1. The Final Series
decides the championship alone: a1 2+1, a3 1+3, b1 4+2, b2 3 + OCS 5.
The boats who never made it rank on the qualifying series only, below the
Final Series fleet — a4 and b4 identical (4, 4), sharing seventh.
