Rule A5.3 in a qualifying flight: a DNS and a DNF scored from the boats that came to the starting area, a DNC from the entries

Melges 15 (supplied boats) 2026 — Irish Sailing Dinghy Champions' Cup, Royal St George YC (SI 17.4) · F9 · SI (reference-docs:events/irish-champions-cup-dinghy-2026/SI-draft.md)

2 qualifying fleets · no split · discards: No discards. · medal race ×1
"Rule A5.3 applies" (SI 17.4). A boat that came to the starting area but
did not start, did not finish, retired or was disqualified scores the
boats that came to the starting area, plus one; one that did not come
scores the boats entered, plus one. Scored by the series' own setting
(`dnfScoring: startingArea`), with each flight ranked on its own.

Two flights of three, one race each. In Flight A, a2 is OCS and a3 never
came to the start: two boats came (a1, a2), so a2 scores 3; a3 scores the
six entries plus one, 7. Flight B sails cleanly. Under A5.2 as the flight
would adapt it, both would score her own flight of three plus one, 4.
